About
I am a Bristol-based painter working in oils, specialising in portraiture alongside still life and landscape. I work from BV Studios in Bristol and regularly exhibit with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the RWA. My work has also been exhibited with the New English Art Club and in the BP Portrait Award.
My portrait commissions include work for London Business School, the University of Bristol, the Wills Hall Association and Manor Hall, as well as posthumous portraits commissioned by Brian Stannah MBE.
Originally from Cornwall, I spent many years living and working at the Gurnards Head Hotel near St Ives, which I helped to run with my family. It was there that I began to develop my practice, with my paintings displayed throughout the bar and restaurant.
Alongside painting, music has always been an important part of my life. I play the violin professionally and for pleasure, specialising in Irish fiddle.
I live in central Bristol with my wife and our two daughters.
